Renee’s Little Rascals
It takes a village to raise a child~
WELCOME TO OUR VILLAGE
Safety
Safety is our first priority when caring for the children. Children are under adult supervision at all times during inside and outside play. In addition to physical safety, we also focus on emotional safety. In order for children to develop, grow, learn, and thrive they need to have a space where they feel safe to express themselves and all of their emotions without being judged, shamed, or suppressed. Keep in mind it is normal for children to act out physically towards one another as their language skills and impulse control are in the process of developing which takes lots of time and practice.
Curriculum
Our program is play-based learning with a focus on social emotional development and creativity. Children learn and develop at the highest capacity through play and connection with their peers in a safe environment. Kindness, love, mindfulness, problem solving, and communication are daily lessons. Mindfulness is taught with different skills to help them work through their emotions and support their bodies. We practice being kind and gentle towards ourselves and others. In addition to learning these life skills, we also teach the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, read books, sing, and more.

ABOUT US
We are a large family childcare licensed for 14 children. We care for children 3 months through kindergarten with a low child to adult ratio. All of our staff is fingerprinted and cleared through the California Department of Justice. They are also First Aid, CPR, and mandate reporter trained with recertifications every two years. In addition, Renee holds a college degree in Social and Behavioral Science with a focus on early childhood, psychology, and trauma.
Renee’s Little Rascals is every child’s second home! We pride ourselves in building a second family relationship with our children and families. We strongly believe that it takes a village to raise a child and every family needs a village. Being home based with a small group, loving long term staff, and open-door policy creates a home away from home environment. All of these attributes lay the foundation for children to feel safe, connected, included, and loved. Renee’s Little Rascals is also a place where children will make some of their first friends and learn about relationships and communication.
Renee’s Little Rascals is a fun place for children to use their imagination, explore freely, and make choices of their own. We also know that children need space to be active and move their bodies in order to regulate their nervous system. We have several things indoors to support their movement such as a sensory swing, trampoline, teeter totter, wobble disk, and more. We do have a schedule but approach it with flexibility depending on the needs of the children each day. Our daily goals are free play time, outside time and daily walks depending on the weather, learning time, creativity time, mealtimes, and nap time. We also incorporate activities such as art, crafts, learning our alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, reading stories, singing songs, and much more.
Renee’s Little Rascals strongly believes in the development of the whole child; physically, mentally, emotionally, and academically. One of the specialties at Renee’s Little Rascals is the knowledge they have around children, their energy, emotions, nervous system, behavior, and needs. They understand that behavior is not a reflection of who the child is, but the way in which they communicate their needs. They are intune to each child, are diligent in learning how each of their bodies operate, and what their individual needs are that need to be met. Some children (and adults too) can be considered highly sensitive meaning they feel everything on a deeper level and more extreme. Children with these attributes need extra space, support, and love that they will receive at Renee’s Little Rascals. A child that has a regulated nervous system, their needs met, and a sense of safety will have the ability to develop, grow, learn, and thrive.
If you want a fun, home, family environment where your child will be safe, loved, nurtured, treated kindly, and their physical and emotional needs met then feel free to connect with Renee for availability.
